With its sustainable, all-electric drive, the Opel Manta now becomes immortal, avoiding any potential driving ban for older combustion engine cars. The Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD stands boldly and confidently starts a new future, emission-free. The new Opel Crossland and the new Opel Mokka feature the Vizor, which will be a hallmark of all future Opel models. The Opel Vizor seamlessly integrates into one single module, the grille, the lighting system and the Blitz brand logo. The Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD is a tribute to the beautiful Manta that most recently provided the inspiration for the design of the striking new Opel brand face. The all-electric Manta GSe ElektroMOD, with its fully digital cockpit, is as sporty as an original Opel GSe, whilst its name is a clear nod to the iconic Opel Elektro GT that set world records for electric vehicles, fifty years ago. The Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD celebrates the legendary Opel Manta of 1970, whilst highlighting the growing "restomod" phenomenon among automobile fans and collectors, who are mixing original designs with new technologies. Earlier, Opel already hinted at the possible return of the Monza, but that coupé never got a modern descendant either. With the much-anticipated, new, 100% electric Opel Mokka-e due to land in showrooms this April, Opel has revealed a first glimpse of its latest exciting e-project. The interior is further finished with matte gray, black and neon yellow parts.Īs mentioned, Opel is not taking the electric Manta into production. In this design element there are two 10- and 12-inch large displays The seats of the Manta GSe Electromod are strikingly taken from the Opel Adam S. Opel hangs, just like in the new Mokka, the Pure Panel for the sniff of the Manta driver. Opel puts the neon-yellow Manta GSe Elektromod on special 17-inch light metal, give it a black bonnet and just like the Irmscher versions of the primal Manta, the GSe Elektromod has to do without chrome window frames. Incidentally, the rear lights have also become a bit more modern thanks to the advent of LED technology. The Manta GSe Electromod can also display texts such as “My German heart has been ELEKTRified” and “I am on a zero e-mission” via the Opel Vizor. In any case, a wide black panel with LED technology in front of the Manta nose. Opel says it has been inspired by the Manta for the Opel Vizor. Yes, the Manta GSe Electromod has an Opel Vizor muzzle and that is quite striking. No restomod without modern design influences and so Opel measures the classic and now electric Manta A, a version of its new family face. The Manta GSe Elektromod has a 9 kW on-board charger that can be replenished with electricity within four hours using an AC charger. The battery pack has a capacity of 31 kWh, good for an electrical range of about 200 kilometers. Just like in the original, the forces are simply sent to the rear wheels. That transmission can also be driven in automatic mode by putting the gearbox directly into four. The Manta GSe Elektromod is equipped with a modified version of the original four-speed manual transmission. The 105 hp Manta GT / E that saw the light of day in 1974 was the most powerful version of the Manta A and of the Manta B – except for special versions such as the Manta 400 rally weapon – no regular more powerful versions were built. There is a 147 hp and 255 Nm strong electric motor where normally the petrol engine was. The Manta GSe Elektromod is directly the strongest Manta that Opel has ever built. According to Opel, the electric Manta A shows that the brand places a great focus on ’emission-free’ mobility, but that it does not forget its heritage. However, that one copy is immediately a special one. We must therefore disappoint those who had hoped that Opel would actually bring an electric new Manta to the market. A restomod is a classic that has not only been refurbished to perfection, but is also interspersed with modern technology. This is the Manta GSe Elektromod, a so-called ‘restomod’ of the Manta A that appeared on the market in 1970. Opel has proposed a very special project. This is the Opel Manta GSe Elektromod, an electrically powered Manta that combines the past and the present in a special way. The model returns 33 years after the last Opel Manta rolled off the production line.
